INTRODUCTION The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148), as amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (P.L. 111-152), combined, make up the law commonly referred to as Health Care Reform. This article refers to Health Care Reform as the Affordable Care Act or the ACA. The ACA amended the Public Health Service Act (PHSA).
