On December 16, 2010, Congress passed the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 (the "2010 Act") to temporarily extend the Bush-era tax cuts for a period of two years through December 31, 2012. President Obama signed the 2010 Act on December 17, 2010.
